The books that designers use for colour reference, you know the ones that have grids of colours categorised into what mood or feeling they represent or create are now a thing of the past!

Introducing Adobe Kuler- a swish flash online colour palette generator where users upload their combinations for you to download as swatches to use in your Adobe software.

It gets better.

Not only can you download these swatches but you can edit them / create your own using pre defined rules such as complementary or analogous. If you would rather free-style then rgb and cmyk sliders are there to facilitate your every colour need. Once your zen japanese garden colour family has been created you title it, tag it and wait for people to post comments.

Have a go, it has saved me hours of staring at a blank screen hoping if I squint hard enough the colours I need will pop out. Oh and if you're RSS hungry- it will fill you up.
