All over bar the shouting

If you attended the i-design conference yesterday, you'll know that the day was packed with exciting and illuminating presentations, beginning with Simon Waterfall's explosive opening address, through to Timo Veikkola's snapshot of where the future is taking us.

Adrian Shaughnessy did a magnificent job of keeping all the speakers on time, and on track, and thus played an essential role in ensuring the day ran smoothly and that the dialogue between stage and audience kept flowing.

The foyer exhibits, Martyn Ware's lunchtime session, and the Portfolio Clinic added the icing on the cake, for what was generally regarded as a great day.

My personal thanks to everyone who contributed their expertise and enthusiasm, both on stage and behind the scenes, to help make the day a success.

Ian Delaney will be uploading a full report of all the sessions in due course, with film clips, and audio links aplenty.

We'd also love to hear your feedback!

Colin Jenkinson - Design Director / Cogapp

We loved it!

The team at Cogapp found this years i-Design a brilliant mix of creative discussion and inspiration. A refreshing departure from the usual conference formats we've attended recently. Informal, punchy and creatively diverse.

Adrian's summary about Ethics has set the ball rolling for next year.

Roll on 2009...

Ian Delaney - co-movers at NMK

I am always anxious about the events we do until they're over! Possibly a very bad personality-match for an event organisation outfit.

However, have to register my agreement with Malcolm on this being a top event.

Conferences are difficult beasts - too diverse and you end up not quite sure what you've just been to. Too uniform and you feel that there's a lot of repetition.

What I, and I hope other delegates, felt was a consistency and vision across the event, but which still allowed for individual and quirky perspectives.

An example in point - Brendan's snow globe and Simon's 2nd web and Timo's slash/slash point all had a lot in common but were told from individual and personal angles.

Anyway, thank you everyone who took part and attended!

The ethics of interactive angle is certainly one for 09, as is personalisation, plus the renaissance and democratisation of hacking.
